KINGSPORT "? A Castlewood, Va., man has a date to appear in court in two months on a charge of patronizing prostitution in the vicinity of a school after a sting at the Super Eight Motel on Lynn Garden Drive.
Daniel M. Adkins, 19, P.O. Box 911, Castlewood, allegedly called a cell phone that Kingsport police were using in a prostitution sting. He "asked for it all, and asked how much it would cost,"? according to an affidavit.
A female informant told Adkins the motel room rendezvous would cost him $100 for an hour, or $150 for 30 minutes more.
Police said Adkins told her he'd be there in about an hour "? that was at 8:45 p.m.
Around 10 p.m., he called again to say he was at the Exxon. The informant said she then invited him up to Room 313 at the motel.
Within minutes, Adkins walked in and put $100 down when the woman asked him to put his money on the table, police said.
Adkins was then placed under arrest on a charge of patronizing prostitution within 1.5 miles of Jackson Elementary School on Lynn Garden Drive.
In a statement, Adkins allegedly admitted coming to Kingsport to pay for sex.
Adkins was then cited and released.
He appeared in court on Dec. 7 and is set for a Feb. 7 court date. </div></div>
